Fee waived for financing water conservation measures May – October 2016

April 27, 2016  |   Posted In Uncategorized

In its ongoing commitment to water conservation, the Placer County Board of Supervisors waived the fee associated with its Property Assessed Clean Energy financing program (mPOWER) for water saving measures. The action waives the $500 residential and $1,300 commercial fee for project applications that include $1,500 in water conservation measures received from May 1 to October 31, 2016.

The Board approved a similar fee waiver in 2014 and 2015. The fee waiver applies to the jurisdictions of unincorporated Placer County, Roseville, Rocklin, Lincoln, Loomis, Auburn, Colfax and the City of Folsom.

Though California has seen rain in recent months, the State Water Resources Control Board continues to remind us that we have not recovered from the drought. In February 2016 the State Water Resources Control Board extended its restrictions on urban water use.

Conservation measures mPOWER can financed include:

  • Low-flow fixtures
  • Improved hot water delivery system
  • High efficiency nozzles
  • Drip systems
  • Smart irrigation controllers
  • Turf and pavers
